Additional Lock and Key Information

Ruby is used to taking care of herself. But now she’s living in a fancy new house with her sister Cora—a sister she hasn’t seen in ten years—and her husband Jamie—creator of one of the most popular online networking sites. She’s attending private school, wearing new clothes, and for the first time, feels the promise of a future that include college and her family. So why is she so wary? And what is Nate— the adorable and good-hearted boy next door— hiding behind his genial nature? As Ruby starts to see, there’s a big difference between being given help, and being able to accept it. And sometimes, in order to save yourself, you’ve got to reach out to someone else.

What Customers Say About Lock and Key:

Only this time her mother was gone longer than usual. To her utter surprise though, she winds up face to face with Nate, the swimming phenomenon hottie. I found Cora, and to an extent her husband Jamie, to be prime examples of those who really do want the very best for their loved one. Ruby can take care of herself. Even though I found the "love story" aspect a little overdone (I seem to be reading a lot of next-door-love stories), the character of Nate was a spot-on reminder of a teen boy. So as soon as she believes the happy couple to be asleep, Ruby slips out of the house and tries to make a daring escape over the fence into the neighbor's yard. This was a really great, fun read and I'm hoping to read more of her in the near future.

Well, that only lasted so long. Many teens go through a stage of rebellion, especially when an authority figure is attempting to tell them what is best. Ruby is tough young woman who I found very easy to relate to throughout her story. Now she finds herself being forced to live with her older sister Cora that Ruby had pretty much forgotten all about.Ruby moves to Cora's house, a.k.a. Over time, she learns the hard way that sometimes in order to gain that which you most desire, you have to let others help you.A charming, captivating novel, Lock and Key is par for the course for Sarah Dessen.

At least that was the ruse she kept up for a few months after her mother disappeared, again. Now it doesn't seem like such a terrible idea to stick around. While she begins adjusting to life in a new private school and attempting to rekindle her relationship with her sister, Ruby is constantly returning to her old habits and clinging to her independence fiercely. Cora has obtained a college degree, gotten married, and is living the life that Ruby always dreamed about; but she feels out of place. So Ruby decided that she would continue her existence as if nothing was wrong. mini-mansion, from the foster facility and is astonished to discover what her sister has been up to in Ruby's absence.

It is written about a situation that, sadly, occurs more frequently than it should. Full of what's going to happen next, rather than regular "chick flick" drama. this is the first sarah dessen book that i read. I thought it was a great read. i recommend. I figured it would be just another "chick flick" like story, but it was nothing of the sort. It was more life like.

Great book.I stayed up until 5 in the morning just to finish it because I had to find out what happened next.

And the ending is absolutely amazing. I read 3 of Sarah Dessen's books. I was atounded every minute I read this book. I loved each one, but this book was superb.

I am 14 and read this book in 2 days (it was that good). I would give this book a million stars if I could. The title was also perfect. I could not put the book down.

I want to read it again, I recommend this book to teens. Please read this book, you will adore it as much as I did. This book has so many great morals that I have even learned from it. They were Just Listen, Lock and Key, and The Truth About Forever.

after reading this one, my whole opinion of sarah dessen changed completely. all of my friends adored S.D.

i am now on chapter nine of "Just Listen". and i just didn't feel the intruigue until this book.

when i had read this book, i had already read 2 sarah dessen books previously. I never wanted to put it down.

its ok so far. i didnt love them but they were okay.

not only did it have a unique storyline, but it had depth and showed Ruby's expirience in a comprehendable way.
